The ASEAN countries have made progress towards creating an ASEAN Economic Community by reducing tariffs on trade within the region and improving economic integration. Despite these efforts, many trade barriers still exist, hindering the full utilization of the benefits. The main challenge lies in non-tariff barriers that impede trade flows and competition.
