Cotton productivity can be improved in hot regions by transplanting seedlings early in the season. A study in Pakistan found that transplanting cotton seedlings in March and sowing in March instead of May increased cotton productivity. Transplanting seedlings boosted productivity by 14.2% compared to direct seeding, while planting in March instead of May increased productivity by 34.8%. This method could help farmers in areas with high temperatures during planting and blooming periods.
