New study challenges traditional biodiversity theories, revolutionizing ecological understanding.
The Theory of Island Biogeography predicts how many different species live on islands. Scientists studied bird species on 42 islands in China to see if all species have equal chances of moving to and from the islands. They found that the types of birds on each island were different, which means not all species have the same opportunities to move around. This shows that not all species have equal chances of living on different islands.
