The researchers studied how using different levels of fertilizers affected the yield of Bt cotton and green fodder in an intercropping system in Tamil Nadu. They found that Bt cotton grown with moth bean had the highest cotton yield, while Bt cotton with fodder cowpea had the highest overall yield and profits when using 150% of the recommended fertilizer dose. Fodder cowpea with 150% RDF also produced the most green fodder. Conversely, Bt cotton with pillipesera and 100% RDF had the lowest yields.
