New Polyculture System Boosts Growth of Carp Species in Fish Farming.
The study tested how well amur common carp and mrigal fish grow when raised together with major carp species in tanks. Three different combinations of fish were compared over five months. The results showed that the mrigal and amur common carp grew best when raised together with the major carp species in a specific ratio. Specifically, the mrigal and amur common carp had higher weight gain and growth rates when raised with certain other fish compared to other combinations.
