Breakthrough Co-Gasification Process Unlocks Sustainable Energy Future
Gasification is a process that makes syngas from solid fuels like a mix of coal and biomass. Scientists figured out the perfect conditions for making this syngas – they call it the Optimum Gasifier Operating Condition (OGOC). By studying how coal and biomass mix together in the gasification process, they found that an OGOC at 618°C with a certain amount of CO2 and water feed produces around 1.6429 moles of syngas with over 61% of the gas being syngas. This condition allows for high carbon conversion and keeps the process thermally balanced. Ultimately, this helps make the gasification process efficient and eco-friendly.
