Personality traits directly impact well-being states, study finds.
The study looked at how different personality traits are related to how happy and satisfied people feel in the moment. They found that when people are feeling good, they tend to be more outgoing, emotionally stable, responsible, friendly, and open to new experiences. These personality traits and feelings of well-being influence each other over time. This shows that our behavior and how we feel are connected, based on the Big Five model of personality.
