Maximizing Low Impact Development Reduces Urban Runoff and Pollutants by Half.
Urban areas with lots of pavement cause problems with stormwater. Scientists studied ways to fix this using low impact development (LID) methods. They tested different LID scenarios in a small urban area and found that the best one reduced runoff by over 50%. This scenario also cut pollution levels significantly, but it cost more money. The results show that LID measures can help cities manage stormwater better and improve water quality.
