Boosting Rice Growth and Defense: Silicon Solubilizers Show Remarkable Results
A study looked at how adding silicon to rice plants affects their growth. They tested different rice types and applied silicon at different growth stages. They found that adding silicon increased the amount of silicon in the leaves, making the plants better at defending against pests and harsh conditions. One rice type, BPT-5204, had four times more silicon in its leaves compared to untreated plants. The plants treated with silicon also had higher levels of chlorophyll, which helps them make food through photosynthesis. Overall, adding silicon to rice plants improved their ability to grow and protect themselves.
