This paper presents a way to make complex design processes simpler for engineers. They used Axiomatic Design Theory to show the relationships between functional requirements clearly. This helps designers ensure their designs stay focused on functional independence and good design principles. They created a quicker procedure based on this theory, emphasizing the importance of keeping things separate at the early stages of design. By testing this approach on a design task, they found it could be a helpful starting point before fully diving into a complicated design process.
