Soil erosion drastically reduced in Chinese watershed, improving land sustainability.
The researchers used a model called RUSLE and GIS to study soil erosion in Zhifanggou watershed, China. They looked at factors like rainfall, satellite images, terrain, and soil type. The results showed that soil erosion decreased from 2000 to 2010. Most of the soil loss was classified as very low or low erosion, with very little high erosion. This suggests that erosion control measures in the area have been effective over time.
