Duckbill weirs with increased height boost water flow efficiency by 47%!
Duckbill weirs with higher heights have increased discharge capacity and stable water levels upstream. A study used computer simulations to analyze how weir height affects the flow rate. Results show that as the weir height increases, the discharge coefficient also increases until it reaches a constant value of 0.47. This finding is crucial for designing effective duckbill weirs, with a specific equation proposed to estimate the discharge coefficient accurately.
