The researchers estimated erosion rates in three reservoir catchment areas in the Bengawan Solo River Basin using a method called USLE and Geographic Information System (GIS). They found that the highest erosion rate occurred in the Nglambangan Reservoir catchment area, followed by the Gondang Reservoir catchment area. The use of GIS-based spatial modeling helped improve the accuracy of the erosion rate predictions, especially in areas with complex topography.
