District heating systems can be more efficient by using booster heat pumps for domestic hot water. By analyzing different low-temperature district heating schemes, it was found that adding booster heat pumps can save between 2500 to 6800€ per house. This cost reduction depends on the type of heat source used for the district heating heat pump and the economic factors considered.
