A new type of distribution called weighted generalized half-normal (WGHN) distribution was created as an extension of the generalized half-normal (GHN) distribution. This new distribution is more flexible and can be used to model real-life data sets better than other existing distributions like GHN and slashed generalized half-normal (SGHN). The researchers derived statistical properties of the WGHN distribution, such as moments and cumulative distribution function, and also discussed how to estimate its parameters using maximum likelihood estimation.
