Remote sensing reveals alarming desertification threat to urban ecological security.
The researchers studied desertification in northwestern Liaoning using remote sensing data. They created a system to monitor desertification land and developed a method to recognize it in satellite images. By analyzing the data, they identified and tracked changes in desertification land from 2008 to 2014 in Chaoyang City. They also looked at sandification information to understand landscape changes better. The study revealed the patterns and dynamics of desertification land in the region over the six-year period.
