New method creates highly accurate soil maps, revolutionizing land management.
A new method was developed to map different types of soil in the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mountains using fuzzy clustering. By analyzing data from soil samples and environmental factors like slope and elevation, researchers identified key parameters for classifying soil types. The fuzzy clustering technique helped create more accurate soil maps compared to traditional methods, with 26% full agreement, 64% partial agreement, and 10% disagreement between the model and observed data. This approach improved the accuracy of soil mapping in the study area and other regions in the Western Carpathians.
