Textile industry effluents in India polluting water, endangering public health.
The textile industry in Punjab, India, is polluting water with its effluents. A study looked at the water quality of Buddha Nallah stream in Ludhiana. They found that the effluents had high levels of pollutants like suspended solids, BOD, and COD, exceeding safe limits. The pH and temperature of the water varied by season, with higher temperatures in summer. This research shows that textile industry effluents are harming the natural waterways in the area.
