Researchers studied 21 rice hybrids made by crossing different parent plants to understand how genes affect their traits. They found that non-additive genes play a big role in determining the characteristics of the hybrids. Some parent plants were identified as good combiners for traits like grain yield and plant height. Certain cross combinations showed promising results for yield improvement in rice.
