Eucalyptus plantations threaten biodiversity in Brazilian river ecosystems.
The article presents a list of small water creatures found in lakes and rivers in Brazil. Researchers collected samples from 1999 to 2010 in different areas, some with protected forests and others with plantations. They found four main groups of creatures: snails, worms, insects, and flatworms. Insects were the most diverse, with 76 families identified. The study is part of a long-term ecological research project in the region.
