Energy-rich area in China faces ecological crisis due to land use changes.
The study looked at how land use changed in Dongsheng district in China over 21 years. They used GIS software and data from 1993, 2005, and 2014 to analyze the changes. The research found that agricultural land decreased by 125.514 km2, while construction land increased by 125.275 km2, keeping a relative balance. The most frequent changes were seen in grassland, woodland, and arable land. The main factors influencing the changes were national economic and social development policies.
