Climate change and human activities drive grassland dynamics in Xinjiang.
Grasslands in Xinjiang changed from 2000 to 2014 due to climate change and human activities. Human actions mostly caused an increase in grassland productivity, while both humans and climate change led to some areas seeing a decrease. Desert grasslands improved mainly because of human activities, while meadows suffered from human actions. The steppe had both increasing and decreasing areas. To help the grasslands, it's suggested to keep grazing out of deserts and limit it in meadows and steppes.
