Private Health Insurance Linked to Increased Medical Utilization in Life Insurance.
The study looked at how having private health insurance affects how often people use medical services when they have life insurance. They used data from the Postal insurance market from 2008 to 2013. The results showed that having private health insurance leads to more medical visits and longer periods of medical care. Having more private health insurance also increases the number of medical visits. This suggests that in a life insurance market where information is not equal, people may use more medical services to get the most out of their insurance.
