Farmers Slash Water Use by 25% with Innovative Irrigation System
A new irrigation system combining drip and sprinkler methods was developed to save water and energy while improving crop growth. By using a special design, this system can switch between drip and sprinkler irrigation based on pressure in the lines, adjusting watering times as needed. Drip irrigation targets the soil's root zone, while the sprinkler nozzle waters plants' leaves and the soil surface. This combination saves 15-25% of water compared to traditional methods, leading to better crop conditions and higher yields. The main goal was to create an efficient irrigation system suitable for various terrains, shallow groundwater areas, and different crops.
