New method detects drought stress in trees more accurately than before!
Researchers studied how drought stress affects different types of maple trees by looking at their chlorophyll fluorescence. They compared trees experiencing drought in nature to leaves drying out in a lab. The results showed that certain fluorescence parameters can help identify drought stress in trees, with some parameters being more useful than others. They recommend using PIABS, Fo/Fm, and V0(Bo) instead of Fv/Fm to detect drought stress in trees.
