New sewage sludge process reduces energy demand and organic waste.
The researchers analyzed a sewage sludge stabilization process in Giżycko from 2015-2017. They looked at how much organic matter was in the sludge and how it changed during the process. The sludge had between 47.47% and 60.80% organic matter. The process reduced the organic matter by 26.4% to 48.7%. They also studied how much sludge was processed and how much electricity was used. This helped them calculate how much energy was needed for the process.
