New model accurately estimates leaf area for improved crop production.
The researchers studied the leaf characteristics of Cunninghamia lanceolata trees to create a model for estimating leaf area. They measured leaf length, width, and thickness, and found a strong correlation between leaf size and leaf area. By using linear and exponential regression models, they developed a simple method to estimate leaf area based on leaf length. This study provides a foundation for accurately estimating leaf area in Cunninghamia lanceolata trees.
