This article discusses a new way to dry municipal waste to make alternative fuel at a waste treatment plant in Olsztyn. They use bioreactors to ferment the waste and create heat for drying. The plant sorts the waste into recyclable and mixed waste, which is turned into fuel for burning in cement or incineration plants. Some waste can't be processed and is sent to landfills.
