Maximizing dripper discharge boosts soil moisture and crop yields significantly!
Water storage pit irrigation combined with drip irrigation was studied to improve water-saving techniques. The researchers found that increasing the dripper discharge led to more soil being watered and higher soil moisture levels. Soil moisture near the dripper had bigger changes than near the wetting front. After 24 hours, there was little change due to evaporation. Higher dripper discharge also raised soil temperatures in the water storage pit.
