New glass technology to safely dispose of high-level nuclear waste.
A facility in South Carolina has been built to turn dangerous nuclear waste into glass for safe disposal. They use a special machine to melt the waste into glass at high temperatures. Scientists have created models to make sure the glass is made correctly and can be monitored and controlled during production.
