Forestry practices impacting water quality and aquatic habitat under scrutiny.
Forestry practices can affect water quality and aquatic habitats by changing water temperature, nutrient levels, and stream characteristics. In 1993, the EPA created guidelines to manage nonpoint source pollution in coastal waters, including runoff from agriculture, urban areas, forestry, marinas, and erosion. This bibliography compiles information on the impacts of forestry practices on water quality and the effectiveness of best management practices in reducing these impacts.
