New instrument helps chemical engineering students make safer decisions in industry.
Process safety is crucial for chemical processing companies, but there have been over 800 documented failures since 2000. To address this, engineering students need to understand process safety. A new instrument called EPSRI has been developed to assess how students make process safety decisions. It presents realistic scenarios and asks individuals to rate the importance of different considerations. This tool aims to help students develop their decision-making skills in process safety.
