Toxic Brewery Waste Pollutes Nigerian River, Endangering Local Communities
The researchers studied how the waste from a Brewery industry affects the water quality of Ikpoba-Oha River in Nigeria during wet and dry seasons. They tested water samples from different points in the river for various properties like pH, temperature, and pollutants. The results showed that the effluent from the brewery had higher levels of pollutants compared to the upstream and downstream points. This suggests that the effluent is impacting the water quality, but dilution helps reduce the impact downstream.
