Forests in Nepal are crucial for people and the environment. Efforts are being made to manage forests sustainably through scientific methods. Challenges like lack of resources and political support have hindered past attempts. A new vision called "Forestry for Prosperity" is promoting sustainable forest management in Nepal. By implementing silviculture practices, forests are showing better growth, increased revenue, and improved health. However, more commitment, resources, and better governance are needed to expand sustainable forest management in the country.
