Revolutionary tillage method boosts wheat yield and soil health dramatically!
Rotational tillage in corn-wheat cropping systems can boost wheat growth and yield by improving soil water and nutrient uptake. A study in North China Plain found that using no-tillage in the corn season and sub-soiling with rotary tillage in the wheat season led to higher wheat biomass production and increased grain yield. This approach also reduced soil penetration resistance and enhanced deep soil water and nitrogen uptake, resulting in better wheat growth. Overall, the combination of no-tillage and sub-soiling with rotary tillage proved to be the most effective for promoting wheat growth in this cropping system.
