Turkey Aims to Harness Geothermal Power, Reduce Fossil Fuel Dependence and Emissions
Turkey is heavily reliant on fossil fuel imports to meet its growing energy needs, leading to increased greenhouse gas emissions. Despite having abundant renewable energy sources like geothermal power, current policies hinder their development. The government's support alone is not enough to promote geothermal energy; social acceptance and awareness among local communities are crucial. Turkey has vast potential for geothermal energy, but more efforts are needed to inform people about its benefits and potential drawbacks.
