Maximizing Nitrogen and Phosphorus Boosts Maize Yields to New Heights
The study looked at how different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus affected the growth and yield of maize plants. They found that as the nitrogen levels increased, the plants took up more nitrogen, especially at 300 kg per hectare. Similarly, the plants took up more phosphorus up to 60 kg per hectare. The highest grain and stover yields were seen with 300 kg of nitrogen and 60 kg of phosphorus, while the lowest yields were with 200 kg of nitrogen and 40 kg of phosphorus.
