City Air Pollution Study Reveals Urgent Need for Environmental Action
Air pollution in cities like Poltava was studied using data from businesses, monitoring sites, and computer programs. New methods like bioindication and pollution indexes were used to compare results with national and global standards. A project to study how technology-related pollution affects the environment and health was suggested. A GIS system for monitoring pollution in Poltava was proposed as a model for other cities. The study also looked at how cities create heat islands that affect the air. It was shown that studying air pollution in cities is important and effective.
