Altitude, not slope, key factor in diverse oak forests in Iran.
The study looked at how altitude, slope, and aspect affect the diversity of trees in Oak forests in Iran. They found that altitude had the biggest impact on tree diversity, with the middle elevation range having the most diverse species. Slope didn't affect diversity much, but steeper slopes had more species. Trees on east-facing slopes had fewer species than those on other slopes. Overall, altitude was the main factor influencing tree diversity in the area.
