Revolutionizing greenhouse cucumber production: higher yields with less water and fertilizer
The study looked at how different amounts of water and fertilizer affect greenhouse cucumber production in Northern China. They tested nine combinations and found that using 85% of the water field capacity and a specific amount of urea-potash fertilizer resulted in the highest cucumber yield. This treatment produced 0.5% more yield than the conventional method used by local farmers. The researchers also discovered that this treatment led to improved fruit quality and biomass accumulation. Overall, using this specific combination of water and fertilizer can help increase cucumber yield while using less water and fertilizer.
