Indigenous Spiritual Beliefs Empower Sustainable Resource Management in Thailand
Indigenous spiritual beliefs in Thailand influence how people manage natural resources and protect the environment. The study looked at how these beliefs affect conservation efforts in the Nongchaiwan wetland. By interviewing key informants and surveying households, researchers found that ancestral beliefs connect people to nature, leading to better resource management. These beliefs, along with property rights for indigenous people, help in conserving natural resources. Policy makers should consider these beliefs to ensure sustainable resource management in areas where indigenous communities live.
