Revolutionizing sewage treatment for cleaner, sustainable communities in Nagpur!
The researchers studied the quality of sewage in residential areas and public parks in Nagpur to find ways to treat it for small communities. They tested the sewage for things like pH, BOD, COD, TDS, TSS, TKN, TP, and faecal coliforms. The sewage was found to be moderately strong, with average levels of COD, BOD, TSS, TKN, and TP. They suggested using wetlands to remove organics and nutrients, activated carbon for trace contaminants, and disinfection for reusing the treated water.
