Accurate personality impressions can help new relationships grow. Two studies looked at how accurate impressions affect liking over time. They found that being more accurate about someone's unique personality traits can make you like them more. However, liking someone doesn't necessarily make you more accurate about their personality. The strength of these connections depends on how much you like the other person. Overall, being accurate about someone's personality can help you like them more, especially if they like you back.
