Turbidity reveals high pollution levels in Nigerian rivers, impacting local communities.
Suspended solids in rivers can carry pollutants, so it's important to measure them. This study looked at River Elemi and Ureje in Nigeria to see how turbidity (cloudiness) relates to suspended solids. They found a strong link between turbidity and suspended solids in both rivers. River Elemi had higher suspended solids than Ureje. Human activities affect the levels of turbidity and suspended solids in the rivers.
