Tourist beaches in Vietnam facing severe erosion threat, future shoreline retreat predicted.
Coastal erosion is getting worse in Vietnam, especially near Thu Bon river mouth. Cua Dai Beach is eroding fast, which will impact tourism. To understand this, researchers used models to study waves, sediment movement, and shoreline changes. They found that the shoreline will keep retreating on the north side of the river mouth, worsening existing erosion. If nothing is done, the erosion will spread even more in the future.
