Immigrants in US less likely to be incarcerated than native-born men.
Immigrants in the US, especially recent ones, are less likely to be in jail compared to native-born men of the same age. Surprisingly, earlier immigrants are more likely to be in jail than recent immigrants. As time goes on, all immigrants tend to have higher rates of incarceration, but recent immigrants don't increase as quickly as expected. This is different from what we usually see with immigrant earnings, where earlier immigrants tend to have better job prospects.
