The study looked at how immigrants relying on welfare benefits affects the attitudes of both natives and immigrants towards immigration in 21 European countries from 2004 to 2010. They found that when immigrants use more benefits than natives, natives tend to have more negative views on immigration. Surprisingly, this trend was not seen in immigrants' attitudes towards immigration.
