The study looked at changes in land use in Weihai City from 2005 to 2015 using satellite images and mapping software. They found that the total area of land use increased, mainly due to expansion of mariculture. The fastest changing land use was unused land, which increased by 24.85%. Forest land, urban construction land, and industrial areas grew, while arable land and grassland decreased. The main reasons for these changes were economic development and national planning. This information can help guide sustainable land use in the region.
