Plant activity in the Arctic tundra is changing due to climate change, but research on this topic is lacking. A study looked at articles from 2000 to 2015 and found that the tundra is one of the least researched biomes. Despite an increase in overall research on climate change and plant phenology, the proportion of research on the tundra has decreased over time. More work is being done on this topic in lower latitudes. The lack of research in the Arctic tundra is due to obstacles like access, expense, and complexity. The study suggests that more investment is needed in studying the effects of climate change on plant phenology in the Arctic tundra.
