A study tested new bacteria on cowpea plants to see how they affect growth. The bacteria Pseudomonas sp. and Acetobacter sp. helped the plants grow better when combined with rock phosphate. These plants had higher yields, better nodulation, and absorbed more nutrients. The bacteria Pseudomonas striata also worked well.
